Luton Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their established team in Luton. The town is situated within the historic county of Bedfordshire with excellent transport links to the M1, A1 and Bedford to London Train line. Luton Borough Council has been a unitary authority since 1997.
You will report to the Project Design and Delivery management team and will support the design team in the delivery of numerous major projects but undertaking the full range of pre & post contract quantity surveying services including cost consultancy to ensure the effective and time delivery of best value services that comply with all statutory building requirements and council policy.
This position forms part of the Project Design and Delivery team's professional structure within the Fixed Assets Division, which is large part of Luton Borough Council. The Project Design and Delivery team is responsible for the design and project management of construction, planned maintenance and minor works.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth experience of quantity surveying work, associated procedures and practices, preferably in a client side position. You will be able to create and maintain working partnerships both internally and externally, have in depth knowledge of contract administration, JCT Design and Build, Intermediate and Minor Works forms of contract, in depth knowledge of NRM and codes of procedure for quantity surveying.
Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying and preferably a member of RICS.
