Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Rescue 21 IA/IT Support Engineer to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ location. You'll get to work side by side with new and experienced teammates on Rescue 21, a United States Coast Guard program. The position will support engineering to bridge the areas Information Assurance (IA) and IT (Information Technology).

Rescue 21 is the Coast Guard's advanced command, control and direction-finding communications system created to better locate mariners in distress and save lives and property at sea and on navigable rivers. By harnessing state-of-the-market technology, the General Dynamics-built Rescue 21 system enables the Coast Guard to execute its search and rescue missions with far greater agility and efficiency.

As the Rescue 21 IA/IT Support Engineer some of the opportunities you will have to use and grow your current skills include:

  • Assist with IA work in support of the IA Technical Lead and IA engineering efforts

  • Lab Tech duties which include support the labs for hardware and software issues

  • Support Altiris and maintain patch levels in the Rescue 21 labs and the field

  • Support the revamping of the R21 imaging process

  • Interface with the Customer Service Organization (CSO)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Technology Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering support discipline (e.g., Management, Accounting) and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible directly related R&D engineering support experience, or have an equivalent experience.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
