Fire Sprinkler Services Technician

About the role
  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions
  • Act as the contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems
  • Successfully perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications, some include:
  • Wet (steel, copper and CPVC)
  • Dry
  • Pre-Action
  • Deluge
  • Fire Pumps
  • Consistently follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Utilize blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals
  • Deliver quality customer service through clear, concise, honest communication
  • Effectively communicate with internal staff to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair customer equipment
  • Successfully create accurate Customer Service Acknowledgements through proper job coding and service information, communicate that information to the customer and obtain customer signature
  • Consistently monitor and maintain adequate inventory to meet daily needs
  • All work on a rotating on-call schedule to manage after-hour service calls

Who we’re looking for

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills
  • Accurately follow both written and verbal procedure instructions
  • Previous experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry (6 years' a big plus)
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes
  • Experience in reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals
  • Must be able to work in usually tight or unique environments’, (i.e., basements, crawl spaces, ducts, attics, on ladders, scaffolds, etc.) and carry up to 70 pounds of equipment
  • NICET Level III Certification in Water Based Systems
  • Limited overnight travel may be required
  • Consistently wear protective gear and follow safety guidelines and procedures to minimize risk
  • Must be available to work on a rotating on-call schedule and work some weekends and overtime, as needed, to meet demand for customer needs
