GDMS has an immediate opening for a Mission Systems Engineer/Architect to join our Mission Payloads team. The position provides an opportunity to develop cutting-edge technologies that solve some of our nation's most critical national security challenges. GDMS employees work closely with our government and defense industry customers to develop solutions for these challenges. The Mission Systems Engineer/Architect will formulate operational concepts, perform mission, functional, cost-benefit, and risk analyses, select candidate system architectures, and prepare specifications to ensure concepts meet the mission needs of the end user.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The Mission Systems Engineer/Architect position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent plus at least eight to ten years of work experience at a government customer or industry prime contractor. A master's degree is preferred with a minimum of 8 years experience.
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
