About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
The Oak Ridge, TN office of AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Technician III to work safely in industrial environments conducting emissions tests using EPA Reference Method Air Testing procedures. Extensive travel is required (50-75%).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Execute valid scientific pollutant measurements from industrial smoke stacks and other stationary sources using EPA testing procedures
  • Read, understand, and follow published test methods and standard operating procedures
  • Produce accurate and complete documentation of tests conducted according to standard operating procedures
  • Show initiative in maintaining and repairing equipment, ordering and organizing supplies and maintaining work area
  • Effectively work both independently and in a team environment

Minimum Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of experience
  • 2 or more years' experience conducting emissions tests of air pollution sources using EPA Reference Method Air Testing Procedures
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights in outdoor climates year-round, lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 lbs and be medically fit for wearing a respirator
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain medical clearance for DOT driving
  • Aptitude for operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to record test data neatly, accurately, and legibly
  • Must be able to conform to the AECOM Travel Policies, including ability to obtain and hold the AECOM Corporate American Express card for use in making travel-related purchases

Preferred Qualifications
  • Scientific background
  • QSTI certification
  • Aptitude and experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
  • MSHA training certification
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
