About the Business Line
Building Engineering
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA office. The Electrical Engineer will lead the Electrical Engineering team technically and professionally. The electrical team provides design for high performance buildings within multiple sectors including Federal Civilian and DoD, Sports Arenas, Themed Entertainment and commercial building projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Team leadership and development
  • Participation in development of proposal response
  • Development of system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)
  • Express complex system solutions in very early design phases in order to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners
  • CAD/BIM design
  • Coordinate electrical system design with mechanical engineers, architects, and other design professionals
  • Review / Edit specifications
  • Review team member's work for quality and recognition of training requirements
  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors
  • Ownership of team metrics (utilization, finances, performance reviews)

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
  • Professional Engineering (Electrical) license
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with sustainable design
  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices
  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident
  • Documented experience with advanced design, and aesthetically challenging design with high profile architecture firms
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
  • Thrive as a leader in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Publication of technical articles
  • Analyze equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection
  • CEM designation
  • Experience with Revit
  • Energy auditing and ECM development
  • Develop robust controls sequence of operations
  • Experience in the following markets:
    • Federal Civilian & Local Government
    • Federal DoD
    • Sports Arenas
    • Themed Entertainment & Hospitality
    • Healthcare and Labs
    • Corporate Commercial / Mixed Use
