About the role:
Interserve Healthcare are currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers to work in the Attleborough area of Norfolk.
The young lady we look after at present has just had her care increased to lots of flexible hours throughout the day and night hence why we are adding to this care team. She is 19 years old and lives at home with her parents and brother. The client has complex clinical needs so you will need to have minimum of six months care experience working with teenagers that are very ill. Her condition is called: Lennox-gastaut syndrome and she can be quite challenging with her behaviour at times. Every day is completely different with our client therefore her care needs vary daily.
At present she is having an annexe built onto the side of the house to be able to move into and help promote her own independence. This will be very positive for her but also the family too.
The care package is very interesting as you are working as a double up carer with another member of our team or mum. You can take the young lady out on days trips she loves animals, gardening, playing with arts and crafts, loves the simple things in life like her swimming pool, her dogs but she also loves having attention directed towards her too.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Care Assistants/Support Workers with good communication skills. Experience of working with young adults with PEG feeds, epileptic clients and/or learning difficulties is advantageous.
