Subcontract Manager |
Summary of Role:
Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Supply Chain - Airborne Solutions business, the Sub-contracts Manager is responsible for leading the Procurement strategy, driving value from the Supply chain through optimisation and rationalisation of the Supply base and for maintaining compliance to legal & ethical factors across the function and wider business community.
Working under consultative direction, the Sub Contracts Manager establishes and maintains routine and non-routine subcontracts of moderate/high value and complexity. Identifies and manages commercial risk. Interfaces with key stakeholders at a senior level and contributes to the development and delivery of the Airborne Solutions business strategies.
Identification of optimised supply solutions across all bought out categories (via 9 box model), including selection of Suppliers (via competitive tendering where appropriate).
Leads the partnering / teaming strategies and manages the key sub contracts and key sub-Supplier relationships.
Implements and manages a functional governance framework capturing best practice and maintaining compliance to legal & ethical requirements.
Negotiates non-standard sub contract agreements and manages non routine issues through senior functional management.
Identifies and manages risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with Sub contractors and other project team members.
Responsible for key Sub contractor compliance and performance.
Functional representative at supplier reviews and internal business reviews including Gates, MRBs.
MCIPS qualified and / or related degree.
Ability to work in a cross functional team.
Excellent verbal and written communications.
Flexible and positive attitude.
Good working knowledge of import/export legislation.
Extensive experience of logistics issues.
Experience of negotiating and changing multiple types of non-standard agreement including the flow down of requirements and the use of Statements of Work.
Strong record of problem solving.
Experience of supplier evaluation and selection.
Experience of Supplier Relationship Management
A strong knowledge of Project Management processes and techniques
Experience in Sub Contract management delivery in an aircraft through life support environment
Experience of dispute resolution
Experience of working with international suppliers or customers
Knowledge of Teaming Agreements
Multi functional team leader experience
Strong network of industry/ internal contacts
Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required)
