We have an opportunity for a senior level Planning Manager tolead our planning practice in Los Angeles, California. This is an exciting opportunity bring your expertise in planning and team management together. Our excellent planning staff is working on a variety of transportation planning projects across the LA market.
With an office in downtown LA, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has been involved in some of the region's most high profile projects for almost 40 years, including Metro Rail Red, Green, Blue and Gold Lines, California High Speed Rail, I-10 and I-110 ExpressLanes, and LAX Landside Access Modernization Program. Building on our success it is our intention to grow our planning practice and a quality Planning Manager is key to this growth. The Planning Manager will manage the transportation planning team in our Los Angeles office. As a key member of the local management team, this individual will actively contribute to the overall success of transportation infrastructure projects in the region including roadway and transit. The successful candidate will also be part of the larger WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff family, with opportunities to interact with transportation professional from across the United States and around the world. This position affords an individual the opportunity to work with a strong team of planners locally and nationally, and to establish new markets as our expertise expands.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working with the major transportation agencies, particularly Metro, SCAG, and the City of Los Angeles in the Los Angeles market area. Experience working with local cities, the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach and LAWA is a plus!
Experience in transit and rail planning is important, including major rail projects, BRT, and bus service planning, but experience in multi-modal corridor planning or complete streets is also a plus. Expertise in short- and long-range planning for transit, highway, and/or multi-modal projects and systems is desired.
The right candidate must have a minimum of 17 years of progressively responsible transportation planning experience, which includes a minimum of five years in a management position. Experience working with federal agencies such as FTA, FRA, and/or FHWA is also desirable.
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in transportation planning or a related field. A Master's Degree in transportation planning is desirable, as is AICP certification. The ability to begin work in this country immediately is required .
