About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
AECOM's team has a great opportunity for an Electrician that would support OCONUS missions. These are contingent positions based on mission requirements. Actual start date(s) will vary.
The Electrician performs electrical maintenance and repair of various plant and equipment used to support the mission. Scope of work will range from maintenance, repair and replacement of sub stations and switchboards to installing cables and work on motors and plant.
The responsibilities of the Electrician include:
Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner
Perform maintenance tasks as required; either programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs
Perform fault-finding as required.
Perform tasks for project type work as required.
Work with and support other trades and work as part of a team.
Perform work on all domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations and equipment as required.
Knowledge of applicable wiring standards.
Perform planning of tools, equipment, assistance and materials needed to complete tasks.
Liaise with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken as required.
Ensure as much as possible that equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner.
• Report any incidents to Management as a priority.
• Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks.
• Assist in all areas of Fosters from time to time as required, within capabilities and training.
• Demonstrated 3-5 years' experience in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical work.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize tasks.
• Work with and supervise other staff as and when required.
• Understanding of EH&S procedures.
• Able to work professionally and safely with minimal supervision.
• Trade Qualification: Electrical.
• Trade License
It is a condition of employment that employee possess and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to the role. Employees are required to possess a Top Secret Security Clearance.
Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tag out, Working in Trenches, CPR, etc.).
