Well established Civil and Structural consulting engineering practice is seeking a Structural Technician to join their Godalming office. The office is within cycling distance from the station (car driver preferred though). They have 2 offices combining around 30 staff.|
You should be a Structural Technician with good experience in Structural drawings, Buildings and Bridges. Any experience working in rail structures would be highly advantageous.
The position ideally requires a candidate with a number years' experience and preferably an HNC in Construction and the Built Environment or similar, who is happy in both structural and civils disciplines, working with AutoCAD. A working understanding of Microstation would also be an advantage as this is what the firm use.
As a Technician you will be expected to take ownership of some projects within your remit, interacting with the Engineers and other Technicians within the company.
The ideal candidate should be happy to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player and communicating comfortably with the other staff members.
A willingness to undertake site surveys/inspections together with an Engineer would be an advantage. You should also have proficiency in RC detailing (not essential)
The role will include but not be limited to
* Drawing and detailing of structural and civil schemes
* Liaison with team to ensure drawings are representative of the engineer's designs
* Project management when applicable
