The incumbent of this job will work under the direction of a Senior Principal Design Engineer. The engineer filling this position will assist with finite element modeling and analysis of aircraft radomes and composite structural components, Nastran/Patran and hand analysis, design & analysis of laminated composites, and development of material qualification/allowable test programs. Further they will Support full-scale structural loads testing, construction element testing, and materials mechanical properties testing. Technical writing for proposals and formal engineering reports (including stress analysis & failure investigations) are included as is preparation and presentation of technical information for customer/internal program and design reviews. |
B.S. in Engineering - aeronautical, mechanical, or civil preferred with an emphasis in structural analysis from an ABET accredited program.
Ability to perform structures engineering efforts for design/development programs with little supervision. Effective technical writing skills are a must. Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment. Desire for life-long learning in the form of both technical and professional growth. Though working under the direction of a senior engineer, self-motivation and strong communication skills are a must.
Experience: 1 - 3 years engineering experience
Composite materials design/analysis experience, finite element analysis experience, and experience with lamination theory/laminated composite analysis software required. Co-op/internship demonstrating structural design experience a plus.
