MWH, now part of Stantec, is looking for a Resident Engineer for their Qatar operation. The Resident Engineer should have extensive knowledge and experience in project execution and implementation of water transmission/distribution projects, pumping station, tanks, pumps, pipelines, surge vessels, air compressors, control valves, safety relief valves, electromechanical equipment etc. The candidate must have full and complete knowledge of the existing infrastructure in Qatar. |
•Ability to lead and supervise a team of multi engineering disciplines staff and contractor within contract period and meeting PWA quality objectives.
•Responsible for reviewing the design proposals, work program, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, payments, variation orders and claims etc.
•Effectively manage the site supervision staffs during construction & ensuring the works are being carried out according to the Contract specifications.
•Ensure monitoring on the quality of materials and workmanships installed, operated and maintained.
•Maintain the Resident Engineer's daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
•Liaise with Client, Project Management and Contractor for resolution of project issues, in addition to concerned Authorities when required.
•Strong understanding of operation and control philosophies of surge protection devices, capable to review & approval of Contractor submittals for hydraulic studies & calculations, pumps, surge vessels, control valves.
•Supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
•Ensure the site safety practices
•Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
•Familiarity with PWA general conditions of contract, quality assurance.
•Liaise with client, co-ordination with Governmental Organization and other Consultants/Contractors
•Minimum 18 years demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision of similar size sewage network projects.
•Must demonstrate his experience in respect of the technical proposals evaluation and its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical problems that may arise during construction.
•Experience must include all environmental protection aspects of the construction of large Sewerage projects, Micro Tunnelling works and House connections.
•Must demonstrate the extent of his/ her knowledge and experience in respect of international construction/ contract law, contract administration procedure, staff management, hold a perceptive understanding of Public Authority procedures and be capable of interpreting statutes, codes, ordinances and regulations.
•Leadership: Strong managerial and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate and provide guidance and direction to a multi-disciplinary project teams, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
•Management of Personnel Resources: Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
•The ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail.
•Excellent computer skills, including experience of using packages like PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Primavera P3.
•The ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
•Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
•A proactive approach, working effectively in co-ordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
•Be of the highest calibre: punctual, attentive and competent in adhering to MWH policies, procedures and working practices.
