Job Summary
AECOM's New Ventures is actively seeking an entrepreneurial self-starter Consultant Intern for employment in the Los Angeles office to drive growth in our mapping and Smart Cities offering. The appropriately qualified candidate should be able to demonstrate ability for detailed research, refined writing skills, and map making abilities. This is a part-time, temporary position expected to last through the rest of 2016 with a possibility of turning full-time in 2017.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide analysis on projects
  • Execute work plans
  • Participate in data collection
  • Participate in development of solutions to client problems with a focus on financial analysis and capital investment
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Collaborate across multiple internal divisions and with subject matter experts
  • Leverage existing external network to develop new relationships for the company
  • Build AECOM's external brand in the community via active involvement with professional organizations
  • Represent the company as a thought leader and expert in the mapping space
  • Market and prepare proposals for competitive bid projects
  • Develop relationships with technology companies and establish new contacts
  • Leverage technology and innovation to expand AECOM's service offering with existing clients

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • ArcGIS experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently in the pursuit of a Master's degree in urban/transportation/regional planning, geography, urban studies or related field
  • Degree in Urban Planning
  • Experience working with technology companies to develop map making services/products
  • Data and statistics management
  • Ability and experience with researching, report writing, and distilled presentations on findings to managers
