We are actively seeking a Property Development Officer to assist the Development Co-ordinator in various activities.
  • Co-ordinates surplus property reviews, including road closure circulations;
  • Set up and maintenance of tracking system, ensuring tracking system is up to date;
  • Maintains the development and technical review tracking system, ensuring it is up to date;
  • Prepare reports, chronologies and briefings on development and technical reviews as required, including monthly and annual reports on number of submissions received and processed;
  • Performs development and technical reviews as assigned by the Development Co-ordinator, including preparation of standard form memorandums and letters, co-ordination of planning and technical information received from various departments;
  • Liaises with City of Toronto Planning, Building and Real Estate staff with respect to particular development or technical review submissions under consideration;
  • Prepares template based development, construction, permission to enter and license agreements for review and execution;
  • Responds to requests for information on the development and technical review process;
  • Provides research and technical support to Property Development staff involved in the disposition, lease, or acquisition of properties;
  • Participates in the review of development proposals, including the review of conceptual and construction documents, for circulation to the Operations and Engineering Branches and other departments;
  • Conduct site review of existing and proposed developments to monitor compliance with property agreements;
  • Update Department policies and procedures in particular those relating to the development and technical review processes and the issuance of clearance letters for proposed development;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate, development consulting or construction industries;
  • Community College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Architecture or Engineering;
  • Requires a good knowledge of real estate licensing, leasing and land development principles;
  • Ability to read and understand conceptual architectural and engineering drawings;
  • General knowledge of common planning, engineering practices;
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communications skills;
  • Good working knowledge of word and excel applications;
  • Excellent research and analytical skills;
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule and co-ordinate complex tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Must have or must develop a sound working knowledge of the Commission's operations, policies and procedures applicable to the work performed;
  • Required to utilize and maintain confidential information in the performance of the work.
