Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Engineer for employment in the Orlando Florida area. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in performing engineering analysis for stormwater associated with Transportation or Civil Site Development. As an AECOM Water Resources engineer you can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida. You will also be responsible for developing strong working relationships with clients and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs engineering analysis associated with stormwater infrastructure improvements and evaluation of existing conditions
  • Works under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation and civil site projects
  • Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures
  • Reviews plans and calculations for conformance with applicable water quality and quantity regulations
  • Assists in research of existing conditions and develops organized documentation on historical data available for each project

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2 years of engineering experience
  • EI
  • Prior experience performing drainage design for transportation projects including calculations and report preparation
  • Prior experience as civil or drainage Engineer on either transportation projects or civil site development
  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively; verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida licensed Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months)
  • Experience in design of storm drain and open channel systems compliant with FDOT standards
  • Experience in design of Stormwater Management Systems including retention and detention systems compliant with at least one of the Florida Water Management Districts criteria
  • Experience in development of Stormwater Management Reports
  • Experience in the following software: ICPR, Hec Ras, ASAD, Geopak Drainage, Ponds, ModFlow, or other equivalent software
