About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary
Position Description:
1. Use plans, blueprints, drawings to select, measure, cut, form, and fabricate wooden containers and platforms.
2. Fastens or installs parts, using hammer, nailing machine, or power staple, repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts, inserts wood bracing, cardboard files, and felt pads in containers.
3. Build crate around object, using ruler, hand tools, and pneumatic nailer, may fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork on vehicle sides and beds, apply preservative to prolong wood life, and may pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Shop environment with hazardous equipment, moving MHE, obstacles and high volume activity. Must be able to lift 35 pounds and carry for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and correctable vision. Outside work in hot, cold and wet weather is often required. Work environment often has fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is loud. Protective devices are required to avoid injury.

Minimum Requirements
• High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum 1 (one) year general experience. Minimum one-year specific experience using wood shop tools, fabricating containers, or framing construction. Must be familiar and able to operate all types of wood working equipment. Must have demonstrated skill to assemble/fabricate wooden containers, mount out boxes, stands, chests, skids and platforms. Must have woodworking experience. (framing, construction, cabinet making etc...Any wood working experience.) Must be familiar with all safety devices/guards attached to woodcutting machinery. Must be able to read and understand general technical drawings.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Due to the nature of the work, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
• This position requires the ability to pass and maintain a national background clearance.
• This position requires a pre-employment physical examination.
• AECOM maintains a drug-free workplace and pre-employment drug screening will be completed.
• Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
