If this sounds appealing, you might be one of us. General Dynamics Mission Systems (GD-MS) is actively recruiting a Regional Hub Node Network Analyst. The successful candidate will provide expert support to the WIN-T Network from the "Command Center", the Regional Hub. You will be responsible to troubleshoot and maintain complex router and satellite networks. You will find this opportunity very challenging and rewarding.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Provide advanced Network Support to the Camp Roberts Regional Hub Node which controls and supports the US Army WIN-T Network: NA
  • System consists of Cisco Routers, Cisco Call Manager, Satcom, Linkway Modems, Master Reference Terminal, Modems, Cisco Switches, Firewalls, VM Ware and Network Management Systems
  • Provide elevated tiered support to support personnel at the RHN
  • Work as a liaison to the Program Manager responsible for the RHN's
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submit reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centers
  • Set up and utilize specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions
  • May assist engineering in determining and solving equipment design problems by setting up special diagnostic test equipment to conduct controlled field experiments and gather engineering data
  • Conduct start-up, cut-over and checkout activities on newly installed systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system/equipment interface problems during installations
  • Work theater commands to create custom solutions to challenging problems that will enable the forward deployed warfighter to successfully complete their mission
  • Perform modifications and field changes to installed equipment
  • Conduct orientation and training of customers in the technical operation and maintenance of equipment as well as over-the-shoulder/refresher training to RHN Support Personnel
  • Maintain complete and accurate logs, documentation of all work orders, spare part inventories and other reports as necessary
  • Interface with customers, military personnel, government dignitaries, external consultants/experts and internal technical staff

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required. In addition, two years progressively responsible network systems engineering experience is required. Industry certifications are preferred.

Acts as company contact in the field with customer and contractor personnel, exercising a high degree of tact, diplomacy and mature judgment, conforming to company policy directions.

Travel required more than 20% of the time.

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
