Raytheon Canada Limited (RCL) implements an Inuit Training and Development Program (ITDP) that benefits communities within the Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (CLCA). The purpose of the program is to actively recruit, develop, and train Inuit Beneficiaries (IBs) for employment on the North Warning System (NWS) Program and foster employee-retention and skills development for Inuit Beneficiary employees at all levels.
Raytheon seeks an Inuit Beneficiary in the trainee program as Accountant Specialist Trainee to support the NWS Program in Ottawa, Ontario. This position is two year in duration designed to provide both post-secondary course training and on-the-job training to provide the individual with the necessary skills to be employed in the Accounting Clerk position for the North Warning System (NWS) contract.
The Accountant Specialist Trainee will work under the supervision of the Business Manager to learn the responsibilities of a private sector accounting department. Such tasks include:
•Reviewing financial entries relating to travel;
•Subcontracting and human resources;
•Applying computer skills and accounting knowledge in support of maintaining the corporate accounting information system; and
•Participates in formal training through an accredited educational institution
Individuals with computer skills and experience in this area, along with a high school diploma or equivalent are encouraged to submit their resume.
•Able to provide proof of Inuit Registry
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, Inuktitut an asset
•Strong MS Office program suite skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Detail-oriented, well organized with sound analytical skills and ability to meet timelines with accuracy
•Completion of high school
