My client, a contractor working within the water industry is currently looking for a new Contracts Director to take lead the operational and business performance of multiple water industry contracts, as well as directing the business in winning further work. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will have a great deal of responsibility in driving the business forward.

Experience managing multiple water industry contracts

The Job
• To organise and direct contract managers and other associated staff determining priorities to maximise the use of resources in achieving prescribed business objectives.
• To ensure detailed forward plans of work commitments, cash flow and appropriate labour requirements
• To ensure through department heads that labour, materials, plant and equipment are used effectively and efficiently
• To control and effectively manage all section operations through regular site visits as necessary and in accordance with frequencies considered essential in order to access progress, safety and quality and to give instruction or advise
• To liaise with departmental staff, client departments, contractors, suppliers and statutory authorities in matters relating to work as appropriate
• To monitor and control day-to-day finance of all operational contracts
• To lead in the recruitment and selection of operational staff and employees
• To ensure that materials, equipment and plant detailed in specifications and drawings for construction or improvement work are ordered in accordance with SBU tendering procedures
• To attend meetings, seminars, training workshops and other work related issues, as required, this may involve working outside normal hours
• To liaise with specialists and consultants as appropriate to obtain assistance and advice
• To liaise with the Departmental Safety Representatives in arranging safety inspections including carrying out investigations into the circumstances and implications of accidents which have occurred in their work area
• Participation in the 24/7 call out rota
