Job Summary
The Design and Consulting Services Division has an immediate opening for a Junior Civil Design Engineer in our Oakland, CA office.

AECOM works on a wide variety of high profile projects and is a leading technical service provider to public agencies and private sector companies worldwide. We are currently seeking the right candidate to be part of our expanding Civil Engineering Group within the overall Building Engineering Department.

Our B P team is leading the industry with visionary and forward-thinking projects such as the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA; Liberty Park at the World Trade Center, New York, NY; the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resilience (Big U), NY; and the LA 2024 Olympic bid.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Design and preparation of grading, drainage, and utility plan packages for a wide range of municipal and private infrastructure projects
  • Conduct project due diligence, utility research and prepare engineering calculations, specifications, engineering cost estimates and technical reports in support of necessary project deliverables
  • Participate occasionally in client meetings and proposal research and writing assignments

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2 years of (non-structural) civil design experience to include design and preparation of grading, drainage, and utility plan packages for municipal and private infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with current design codes and practices
  • Knowledge and experience with computer programs like AutoCAD AND Civil3D
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under the direction of a Project Leader on the civil portion of multi-discipline projects
  • Ability to lead and work independently on design aspects of projects
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
