Over the past year the Ecology team at Golder Associates New Zealand has been growing and we are now seeking two senior ecologists to further strengthen our team. Specifically we are looking for either freshwater or terrestrial ecologists with relevant experience to fill the roles of Team Leader - Ecology and Senior Ecologist. These roles can be based in either Auckland or Christchurch and will suit motivated individuals with comprehensive technical and leadership skills.
The Ecology team provides technical and management advice to a wide range of industries and organisations. As such, delivering technical excellence and solution-focused scientific methods will be a key focus of these roles. Both roles will require a hands-on approach to the development of solid business strategies, identification of new business opportunities and innovative methods to reach different markets. You will be expected to work closely with other disciplines and teams within Golder Associates to build an enterprising business of technical advice on overall freshwater and terrestrial management across New Zealand. Further developing the existing skills of the team will be expected, with a key focus to provide mentoring of staff to grow in-house capability.
To be successful in either of these roles, you will be degree qualified and have demonstrable relevant experience in the field of freshwater or terrestrial ecology and environmental management. You will have proven project management skills and the vision and motivation to deliver effective, strategic outcomes. You will have excellent communication skills and will be held in high regard by your peers and clients. Experience preparing expert evidence and being an expert witness is also highly desirable.
