The primary responsibilities of an Operations Program Manager include:
Prioritizing production needs within assigned programs to meet both customer and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) needs. This includes working with Contracts, Program Management (PM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) from bid and proposal stage through execution and achievement of program goals.
Leadership in achieving financial targets, Operations Planning / build plan attainment, delivery, inventory, and quality objectives.
Facilitates weekly program meetings, special meetings and projects, bid & proposal, budget management, leading cross-functional teams.
Ensures proper start-up and closeout of contracts from an Operations perspective.
Plans, prepares, issues and manages production schedules and coordinate with Material Integration to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet production requirements on an ongoing basis.
Communicates and flows down program specific information/ direction to Operations and keep Program Management abreast of all Operational activity and issues pertaining to their programs.
Actively monitor operations support requirements to ensure adherence to the Build Plan and achieve program specific metrics, optimize production resources (i.e. equipment, personnel, etc).
Facilitates Make-Buy decisions to reduce cost and/or risk to the program or Production.
Bachelor's Degree (Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering) and/or equivalent experience
Prefer APICS/CPIM Certification
Ability to follow processes and procedures and to provide direction to others.
Ability to gather, analyze, and summarize data to develop appropriate action
Strong negotiating, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects.
Ability to work collaboratively, meet commitments, and act with integrity in all aspects of work.
8 or more years of applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Direct or Indirect supervisory experience - Minimum of 1 year.
• Manufacturing of complex parts and assemblies, preferably in a DoD environment and experience with MRP / ERP systems
