Job Summary
In this position, you will be a member of the Outreach Team on our Commuter Services of PA project, which manages the travel demand management (TDM) programs for thirteen counties in Central PA. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will promote alternative transportation mode use by helping to host events at employer worksites and have the responsibility for delivering individualized transportation commuting marketing support and services, with the goal of improving traffic congestion and air quality in the Commonwealth.

The Outreach Coordinator performs a range of transportation demand management, marketing, and promotional projects, aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers, commuters, and/or students to utilize non-drive-alone means of transportation, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, teleworking, and other options.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist Employer Outreach Managers in promoting and implementing transportation commuter options programs at employer sites
  • Conduct events at worksites throughout multiple counties in PA, including promotion prior to the event and follow up afterwards
  • Promote and conduct events at local companies communicating the benefits of programs offered by Commuter Services of Pennsylvania
  • Promote regional marketing programs
  • Conduct direct calls to commuters for the purpose of tracking placement in rideshare arrangements
  • Attend local networking and public meetings
  • Interact with employer representatives, human resources staff, state and local transportation officials, and elected officials
  • Prepare and conduct presentations to stakeholders, local employers and commuters
  • Work closely with individual commuters to facilitate cost effective and clean air commuting modes
  • Measure clean commuting at worksites, according to program procedures

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Education, General Studies, Public-health or related field
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
  • Must have excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills and experience in handling multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner
  • Proven track record meeting job performance metrics
  • Ability to achieve objectives through teamwork
  • Field office work will require reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record
