Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to be based in our Princeton, New Jersey location.
  • Perform engineering calculations related to settlement, pile capacity, slope stability and support of excavation
  • Preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and foundation recommendations
  • Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications and construction documents
  • Manage subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
  • Review engineering reports and documentation prepared by junior staff
  • Prepare project estimates, schedules, and specifications
  • Mentoring and technical development of junior staff
  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience performing geotechnical field investigations and calculations
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software applications, such as LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, and Geo-Slope.
  • Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS with Geotechnical concentration
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Membership in NCEES
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • Experience in Power and/or Transmission and Distribution projects
  • Experience with GIS Software.
