Provide strong technical leadership for all aspects of the project assigned while working with the following:
Program Management to ensure that projects are properly managed to achieve project delivery in accordance with project plans
Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure Engineering integration into overall program requirements
Divisional Engineering teams to ensure that engineering integrity is achieved, engineering procedures are complied, lessons learned are addressed and a robust trouble-free product is developed

Executes engineering program activities and proposals including:
Customer / Suppliers:
Liaise with customer/Suppliers for all Engineering related issues
Foster strong customer relationships through accountability, transparency and credibility

Integration / Planning:
Utilize UTAS product introduction tools to facilitate program execution
Develops and is accountable for overall engineering schedule and budget and harmonizes priorities and objectives with Program, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain
Responsible and accountable for all related engineering tasks and its completion dates
Sets Engineering team priorities and objectives with a strong drive to meet expectations
Communicates progress and roadblocks with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and Engineering Management
Reviews, recommends, coordinates design, drawing changes activity with customer, other Company disciplines and coordinates activities between production, manufacturing and engineering
Develop measurable actions plans and ensures actions are completed on time
Problem Resolution
Performs/Leads/Facilitates Engineering investigations into failures and leads/participates in Root Cause and Corrective Action
Ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of problems
Ensures compliance to UTAS Landing Systems engineering methodologies by providing direction/guidance and facilitating design reviews with the Chief Engineer Office.
Ensures compliance to ITAR and regulatory requirements
Manage customer requirements to achieve full compliance
Occasional travel between customer/suppliers and UTAS Landing Systems locations. Long term assignments may be required during the joint definition phases for new programs.

Manages direct reports:
Performance reviews
Facilitation of personnel development plans
Support development of Landing Gear cultural initiatives through the use of UTAS 4-gears philosophies
Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Landing Gear new product design and development leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers for transport and /or military type aircraft.
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a multi-disciplined team of Engineers (structural design, systems installation design, stress analysis, weights analysis, design trade-off studies)
Demonstrated project management experience in managing large projects, developing staffing plans and generation/management of program engineering budgets
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR & CCGP
