My client is a small but steadily growing specialist product certification consultancy & testing company. |
They are currently seeking an experienced Product Compliance Engineer to work at their office/laboratory in Telford.
The role is a mixture of consultancy, product review/analysis and some testing (which may be done on customer site). You would also direct the laboratory test technician on carrying out relevant testing in our laboratory. You would assist in the laboratory quality system implementation and maintenance; and contribute to developing and improving company technical processes and procedures.
This is an interesting, varied and demanding role where you must be willing and able to work to tight timescales and have a strong customer focus and ability to get projects done and closed off as soon as possible. You must also be able to prioritise and manage several projects simultaneously.
As well as being technically strong, you should be a good verbal and written communicator and team player.
There is an annual bonus subject to company profitability, which is performance related. There is also a contributory pension scheme.
Candidiates should have
Degree or HNC/HND level qualification in an electrical engineering or related subject
At least 5 years experience of electrical equipment design and/or testing, including good knowledge of standards for one or more of: industrial & control equipment, consumer electronics, medical electrical equipment, domestic appliances, lighting, IT equipment, telecom/communication apparatus
Knowledge and experience of primarily product safety standards and tests, but also knowledge of EMC would be advantageous
Your role will be to deal with client projects from initial enquiry to completion. You will be need to be self-motivated and well organised and to work as independently as possible within a close-knit team.
Candidiates will be expected to travel throughout the UK regularly, and also occasionally internationally.
