My client are the No.1 Data Management Software Vendor in the World and due to their continued successes and achievements they are looking for a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer (VMware focussed) to join their team in Reading.
They have a build vs buy philosophy and have had 20% growth year on year for the past 6 years and have a total of 4,000 employees worldwide.
My client have lead the Data Management market for the past 6 years against major competitors such as EMC, IBM, Veritas, Veeam and HP.
This position will see you join my client's virtualisation team.
You will be trained and certified in my clients market leading product and will be responsible for deep dive complex troubleshooting.
You will face different technical challenges on a daily basis across Windows environments, VMware or Hyper-V, Storage and Backup technology.
This role has no ceiling on technical ability and you will own an issue from initial pick-up all the way to working with the development team on identifying a possible solution.
-Strong experience and knowledge of the Windows OS and Windows Server 2008/2012r2
-Strong understanding and experience with Active Directory
-Good experience and knowledge of Network Protocols and Commands
-Experience supporting or administrating VMware from versions 5.5 upwards.
-Experience supporting or administrating Hyper-V would be beneficial but not essential.
-Experience working with a Backup product such as: CommVault, Veeam, BackupExec, NetBackup, Data Protector or Legato/Networker would be beneficial.
-Experience working with a Storage Technology such as NetApp, EMC, HDS, IBM or HP would be beneficial but not essential.
-Excellent technical troubleshooting abilities and is able to show analytical thinking abilities.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
