Our new client is currently recruiting for a Production Foreman to run their busy workshop in Banbury specialising in the production of Structural and Architectural steelworks

We are looking for a Production Foreman who has a previous background of Welding and Fabrication. Although you will also be expected to carry out Fabrication duties of your own, you will be required to manage a team of Welder / Fabricators, and Site Installation Teams.

The Production Foreman will be required to provide technical advice, knowledge, assistance and intervention to ensure the safe and efficient production / operation of all activities. To carry out checks at predetermined intervals. To ensure adherence to all safe systems of work for all Fabrication activity and to work to company Health and Safety policy at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

To be responsible for the fabrication team activity within their works and organisation of site installation teams.

Oversee and ensure procedures, including the completion of associated documentation are adhered to for all activities in the workshop. Ensure all engineer workloads are covered, maintained & kept to a minimum at all times

Communicate regularly with all company personnel to ensure problems are reported & solved

Ensure materials and equipment is available to meet the operational demands placed upon it in a safe and efficient manner.

Experience required:

Experienced fabrication shop background
Fully understand engineering drawings
Be competent in MIG welding, with TIG welding experience advantageous.
Have experience in using various fabrication equipment including guillotines, punches etc (Training can be provided where necessary)
Must be able to work well within a team
Experience in the welding of a variety of materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium.
Proven fabrication competency skills and certification.
Ability to work unsupervised and possess a logical and thorough approach to all aspects of H&S and production
Able to organise department activities
A good Health and Safety awareness
Motivational and organisational skills
Salary - negotiable depending on experience

The role consists of a basic 40 hour working week, Mon - Fri.

20 days annual holiday, plus Bank Holidays
