Milton Keynes / Reading / South East base with National coverage

£28,500k basic + van + overtime + pension + callout allowance (Realistic OTE c£36k- £40k+)

Our client is recognized globally as a market leader in the provision of highest quality and efficient Materials Handling solutions for a diverse range of applications, and with their ongoing planned programme of continuous strategic growth, an urgent need has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and highly capable Field Service Engineer to complement their established and successful team working on a range of automated materials handling, powered access and mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) systems across the South East region of the UK.

Ideally based within the Milton Keynes, Reading or London region, the successful candidate will demonstrate a dynamic and articulate customer facing communication style and a positive and proactive approach to both reactive and planned preventative maintenance activities on a range of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic access systems, and will thrive within a customer facing environment in which the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess at least 5 years' previous experience gained within the maintenance, service and repair of conveyor and automated materials handling equipment as well as powered access equipment (preferably GENIE, NIFTYLIFT or SNOREL platform brands) including mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP), scissor lifts, boom lifts, miniloaders, cherry pickers and aerial work platforms, with experience of DC powered battery and diesel machines proving distinctly advantageous.

Reporting to the Field Service Controller, after an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of H&S and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis at customer premises throughout the UK as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.

Complying with all H&S requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines whilst adopting a flexible approach and being able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst potentially operating within a pressurized and time sensitive environment. As the role covers the UK, there may be occasions where overnight stays will be required to complete works on site, so flexibility to do this is essential for the position. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will currently be working on Powered Access Systems or relevant Plant and Equipment, highly probably within a maintenance or service environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling or Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background.

A full clean driving licence, City & Guilds or above in a relevant engineering discipline and a time served engineering background are therefore preferred requirements for this role, along with multi skilled abilities on both AC and DC controls and hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical applications, with fabrication skills proving additionally beneficial. In return an attractive benefits package, stability and genuine career progression opportunities are available for suitably experienced and motivated individuals.
