Qualtech Resourcing is working with a large successful manufacturing business who are a market leader in their chosen field producing innovative quality products for customers all over Europe.

With strong growth forecast for the next few years they are currently recruiting personnel in key areas to help drive this growth and are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their busy team.

Key activities

To ensure compliance as an individual of both Company and legislative Health and Safety policies, procedures, standards and regulations at all times whilst on site.

Ensuring Health and Safety is first and issuing / working with the companies permit systems.

Actively support and encourage waste elimination initiatives.

Involvement in the weekly efficiency review meetings.

To champion the introduction of TPM philosophies inc Autonomous maintenance and crew training / support

Introduce new technology/ equipment and methods where appropriate.

To ensure that machinery is in safe working order after any adjustments or repairs.

Assist in writing new engineering procedures, set-up sheets and instruction documents.

Stand in for the Technicians in the absence on shift.

Communicating with other members of the department, reporting on shift performance and issues.

Prioritising the workload and informing management of issues as they arise.
To locate and repair any faults causing production machinery to stop or run incorrectly.

To assist in the training of new staff, ensuring that they are introduced and familiarised with any machinery with which they have not previously dealt with.

To provide an effective and efficient Breakdown service, involving the location and repair of any services equipment, placing orders for machine spares required from the engineering stores or manufacturing any machine parts, brackets, fixture and fittings required form raw materials.

To provide an effective and efficient Preventative Maintenance service, via checks on machinery for any signs of wear or possible future breakdowns, checks on safety equipment for damage and correct operations and lubrication of machines to manufacturer's instructions.

Responsible for ensuring your work area complies with GMP (good manufacturing practice).

To carry out periodical safety checks on machine guards and interlocks, making safe and reporting any possible hazards.

Responsibility of the factory services maintenance.

Have an active role in the completion of projects to set time lines.

An active involvement in raising and completing job requests through the current computerised maintenance system.

Knowledge, experience and work skills needed :


Good attention to detail.

Time served Apprentice trained in Electrical Engineering ideally to ONC or
City and Guilds.

17th Edition (16th Edition earliest) trained/ accredited

Able to understand use, develop and amend and fault find from Electrical / pneumatic schematics and P&ID drawings

Mechanical flex-skilling.

Welding and machine shop skills.

Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills, Root cause analysis

O Level/GCSE in Maths and English.

Previous experience in the FMCG manufacturing environment in an engineering role.

Basic computer skills.

The shift pattern would be working straight nights Monday to Friday 10pm to 6am and Friday 7pm to 1:30am. This position offers a very competitive salary
