Our client is globally recognised and used to deliver complex and critical support to the defence, energy, emergency services and automotive sectors priding themselves on engineering excellence. They have won a large scale contract with a major transport organisation to train and produce apprentices through their highly rated program. This has created an urgent need for skilled and experienced engineering trainers to lead the Electrical and Mechanical advanced training during the first year of these courses.
Your new role
Your job as an Academic Instructor with either an electrical or mechanical bias will require you to demonstrate and support good practice through innovative teaching and learning strategies. You will be delivering an academic program to BTEC Level 3 standard and will need a HNC/HND/Degree yourself to ensure full understanding of the course. You should also have a good understanding of Mechanical or Electrical (depending on your bias) principles and possess a strong mathematical aptitude. You will be planning programs for the duration of the course and then delivering lessons to small groups in an interactive environment.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have to be a competent trainer/instructor with experience of delivering BTEC level 3 programmes within the engineering sector. You will also have proven experience of lesson planning within an organisation and be able to maintain an effective relationship with the relevant subject matter experts. You will have excellent communication skills and be ambitious and committed. Experience working within your relevant field in industry is equally important, and a passion for engineering and the future of the industry is essential. In order to gain the upper level of salary on offer, you will have either a TIE certification or the A1 Assessor's qualification.
