We have distributor agreements with world-renowned measurement companies and sell into precision engineering applications within the aerospace, automotive, marine, defence and research sectors.
As Technical Sales Engineer reporting to our MD, you'll divide your time between home/office-based work and visiting customers and prospects. Proactively setting up sales visits to ensure a busy sales pipeline, you'll be involved in regular instrument demonstrations and/or technical discussions. So you must have the ability to get to grips with our technologies, because this can be a mid- to long-term solution sell. Features of the Technical Sales Engineer role include:
• typical sales value varies from £2,000 up to £20,000 or higher
• developing and maintaining strong relationships often with Inspection/Production/Purchasing Managers
• combining existing database/enquiries with proactive prospecting for new customers.
You must have a formal engineering qualification, together with a proven, successful track record in medium- to high-value technical sales. If you have a metrology background, that would be ideal, although we will provide training. What is essential is your ability to build up relationships with existing clients and a proactive, highly organised approach to finding new sales opportunities. Persistence and tenacity will be key personal qualities as Technical Sales Engineer, along with:

• excellent communication and influencing skills, together with a compelling presentation and demonstration style.
