Your role will be to...
Support and maintain IT systems including desktop support/provision, network infrastructure, and associated software and applications, in order that all Authority and the Company's people can maximise their use of IT and meet Authority/Company commitment to deliver training services to the Royal Navy
Provide IS support (1st Line/ 2nd Line) to ensure calls are managed in line with agreed SLA/ KPI
Update and maintain the register of IT assets
Provide user support to ensure the effective and timely resolution of technical problems, keeping staff informed of the status of their request for support
Document solutions to problems regarding standard IT applications and record them appropriately
Undertake the day to day operation of backup systems including rotation of backup tapes
Manage and Deliver software deployment as instructed/requested
Build PC/Mobile Systems in line with contract and customer need
Monitor system alerts and reports on servers and report problems to the 3rd Line team
Manage all works through the TABS FM System
Contribute to the proper installation, maintenance and disposal of IS Equipment
Liaise with contractors and suppliers of IS equipment
Provide IT support services for FOAP(T) ensuring all services are delivered to contract requirements

Advanced Apprenticeship Infrastructure Technician Level 3 (equivalent to A- level educational level), MTA Networking Fundamentals, MTA Mobility and Devices Fundamentals, MTA Cloud Fundamentals, One Microsoft MOC on demanded course
New skills including:
- Networking Principles
- Network Systems and Architecture
- Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
- Technical Security Fundamentals
- Threats and Vulnerabilities
Apprenticeships and Vendor qualifications L4
Higher Apprenticeships Network Engineer Level 4 (equivalent to first year of degree study), Microsoft Certified Professional - Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 R2, One Microsoft MOC on demanded course
24 - 28 month Higher IT apprenticeship (with opportunity to step off after 12-15 months if you find that the training/role isn't for you)
Who should apply...
- Someone who can use/ has previous experience using Microsoft Office Applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Someone who can use/ has previous experience using PC / Laptop Build (Imaging and systems build)
- Someone with the ability to adapt and prioritise
- Someone with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Someone with the ability to understand the military sector industry
- Someone with the ability to understand the Customers key requirements
- Someone who can take responsibility for meeting individual performance targets as agreed within PDR process and with the FOAP(T) IS Manager
- Someone who can support the positive Customer Service culture of cross team working
- Someone who can communicate effectively within the team, with other teams and across the Authority as a whole
- Someone with ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English
Other Important Information...
A driving licence is preferred but not essential however must be working towards getting a licence
You will need to be security cleared

There will be excellent training with the potential for the role to become permanent.
