2 Project Quantity Surveyors are required by a Global Energy Provider to carry out quantity surveying duties on a range of sustainable energy projects across the UK. The role is based in Coventry but you can expect to be working on site anywhere in the UK up to 3 days per week. A company car is provided.|
You will be responsible for the commercial control of projects. This will involve the valuation of subcontract applications and invoices, raising internal invoices, carrying out cost analysis and monitoring project performance from contractual and commercial perspectives. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you`ll also be responsible for the preparation of pricing schedules and a wide range of contract types, including T&M, NEC, JCT and bespoke service agreements. It will also be down to you to provide contractual, commercial and financial support for the Delivery team. You will also be responsible for managing relationships with contractors and suppliers, leading negotiations with them as well as ensuring they are all fully approved and adhering to the highest quality standards. And you will always be striving to improve commercial competitiveness as well, fostering relationships with new suppliers and contractors wherever you can. You will be supported in all this by an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, so you`ll also be expected to help with their development. With a degree in Quantity Surveying, you have a proven track record of strong financial and commercial management of construction projects. You`ll have proven management experience in a QS department and experience of specification writing and contract negotiation. Experience of both JCT and NEC contracts is required, as well as T&M. In addition, you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills
