A vacancy exists for a Plant Engineer reporting to the Production Unit Manager. |
Working on COMAH (SEVESO) plants, the Plant Engineer is responsible for working closely with multi disciplines across site to maximise the efficiencies of plant operations and implement process improvement projects. You will troubleshoot and identify process needs to maintain production levels and manage adherence to the health and safety management system to ensure compliance with company policy. In addition, the role is an integral part of the site SRD (Safety Review on Diagram) and Criticality processes.
Key contributor to site SRD and criticality process, offering expertise in identifying failure mechanisms and generating maintenance written schemes to be followed ensuring the plants are maintained to the highest standard.
Generation of RMM's (Routine Mechanical Maintenance).
Effectively deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and equipment repairs.
Provide analysis and resolution of repetitive equipment failures.
Ensure continuous smooth operation of plants by planning and coordinating maintenance and repair services with internal departments, contractors and insurance inspectors.
Cover for the maintenance Supervisor(s) to direct the maintenance teams' activities .
Work with purchasing to identify suitable vendors to source parts and equipment required
Effectively manage continuous improvement projects from establishing detailed and defined scopes, timelines with milestones, completion dates, identifying key accountabilities and provide guidance and expertise to keep projects on track & within budget.
You will need to be able to work effectively in a team and on your own initiative, have good problem solving abilities, and be self-motivated and confident with good communication skills. Additionally you will be required to be;
• Qualified to a minimum B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with established experience in a chemical manufacturing plant. • Good level of understanding and adherence to safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations as well as mechanical standards and industry legislation , such as COMAH and PSSR , PUWER , working at height, confined space entry and hazardous area regulations. • E xperienced in supervising a wide var iety of skill levels and trades. • Sound project management skills • A qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH/NEBOSH) would also be desirable
