My client is a digital agency based in Central London who are looking for a Front End Developer to join their growing team. The client is based in modern offices with a fast paced, vibrant friendly atmosphere.
They are experts at what they do from a tech perspective and are looking for people who want to be part of a very friendly, cohesive team. The social side of this client is legendary. They spend a lot of time and money making sure that people have the opportunity to get to know and trust each other. They also commit time and energy to sharing knowledge and expertise: every day you will have the chance to learn new stuff from a large group of smart, talented people.
Reporting to the Senior Developer, you'll be part of the experience design studio working collaboratively on user interface challenges across mobile, tablet, desktop and other devices.
Working with our technical partners and clients' in-house development teams you will be responsible for building responsive prototypes, creating professional HTML, CSS and JS.
With experience developing across devices and using techniques such as responsive web design, you'll often be called upon to validate or challenge the viability of designs.
As part of a team you'll also need to stand in front of the work and communicate the ideas and rationale that have informed the approach to clients and internal stakeholders.
Keeping the client at the forefront of experience design is a company-wide activity.
Your contribution to this will be through seeking out the latest technologies, actively staying up-to-date with industry peers and feeding this back into the wider team.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your own tradecraft and experience.
They will invest some money in training for you and also give you space and opportunities to share your knowledge and perspectives with the outside world.
You'll be encouraged to attend events, write and speak publicly.
They also like to explore new ways of working and techniques outside of project time.
Therefore, in addition to supporting the sales team by identifying new business opportunities, you will help generate ideas and suggestions for projects outside of paid work which advance internal company thinking.
In particular you will be comfortable recommending development approaches and deliverables for projects, and assisting our project management team in estimating the effort involved in build activities.
A confident communicator, you'll be in regular dialogue with both our clients and your colleagues.
You'll be able to express your thinking and advice both conversationally and in written form.
This will also mean you have an acute eye for detail and can manage your own time and priorities.
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to your field, so will have at least two years' experience writing Front End code, and be able to direct us to live sites where you can demonstrate your work.
An understanding of web accessibility, an appreciation of user experience design methodologies, and a working knowledge of Photoshop, are also requirements for this role.
They pay well and we are generous with bonuses and other rewards for high-performers.
On top of that, like any company which is serious about keeping and developing talented people, they have excellent benefits like profit share, 25 days' holiday (which increases to 30 with long service awards), matched contribution pension scheme, death in service cover, private medical cover and personal training budgets.
