The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is a fascinating, complex and rapidly changing organisation. Whilst being fully committed to the Scottish Governments Energy Reduction Plans, considerable and continuing investment has been made in modernising our estate. Our carbon reduction program runs through to 2020 with an objective of attaining on-site generation of electricity to meet 14% of our need.
Our team of technical specialists and professionals work throughout our Prisons, Headquarters (HQ) and SPS College sites across Scotland.
This is an exciting, important and unique opportunity within our HQ team offering opportunities to work with and influence well established and cutting edge technologies. This role is pivotal to the Estates team's success in contributing and delivering a range of energy saving projects and initiatives across all our sites.
You will be Educated to HND level or above in energy management, engineering or an equivalent building services related discipline.
You will have a proven successful record of energy management on large scale mechanical and electrical systems, co-ordinating the efficient operation of Building Energy Management System (BEMS), along with managing and monitoring utility supply consumption across a multi-site/multi-build environment.
You will have interpersonal skills that will enable you to foster collaborative working relationships and communicate effectively whilst positively influencing stakeholders and teams. Experience of interpreting and presenting complex information which supports effective decision making along with planning and delivering work to industry standards within budget and timescales is also essential.
