About the Business Line
We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Reporting to the Buried Services Manager, the Buried Services Technician shall assist in the review of utilities data and the production of permits to dig for AECOM intrusive works on Highways and Railways
Receiving and preparing for review buried services information
Prepare desk study information from Highways Agency and Network Rail
Reviewing Buried Serv ice information, deciding, if services are within the area of interest determining location of services and recording them on to the Buried Services QA form.
Checking own and others work
As required, assisting the Geophysics and Monitoring team in their daily work loads
Any other duties as directed by the Buried Services or Geophysics and Monitoring Management Team.
Qualifications & Person Specification
Ideally degree qualified but not essential
Rail experience not essential (preferred if don't) as training will be given
Attention to detail, methodical and organised
Use of excel essential
Able to read and understand plans
Willingness to learn on-the-job.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
Previous experience undertaking buried utility surveys using topographical and geophysical techniques (e.g. Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Location) would be beneficial
A Level or equivalent as minimum ( relevant experience may substitute for qualifications)
