Our specialists are responsible for the management and control of hundreds of major capital programs totaling over US$300 billion across all continents and market sectors, including transportation/infrastructure, mining and minerals, environmental, facilities, water and energy.

Job Summary
This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Business Director position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling business administration functions such as accounting, human resources, logistics, materials management, data processing, safety, real estate, office and general services, camp management, warehousing, and finance at all organizational levels, including foreign and domestic field projects.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Under administrative direction, responsible for assisting top management on financial, business, and administrative matters.
  2. This may be the highest business administration position in a small group, responsible to the group vice president with a reporting relationship to the appropriate vice president of operations administration; or may be used as the highest level business administration position on a large, complex project, responsible to the project director with a reporting relationship to the appropriate group or subsidiary administrative manager; or may also be used at the administrative level, responsible to the appropriate functional vice president.
  3. Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to work on unusually complex problems by providing solutions, which are highly innovative and original.
  5. This position forms an integral part of the top management team.
  6. Studies business methods in order to improve work flow, simplify reporting procedures, or implement cost reductions.
  7. Analyzes business practices such as record keeping systems, personnel and budgetary requirements, and performance standards to create new systems or revise established procedures.
  8. Prepares and analyzes annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  9. Prepares administrative directions outlining policy and procedures.
  10. Involved in the preparation of proposals.
  11. Selects, hires, trains, and assigns business administration staff for new projects.
  12. May take part in contract negotiations.
  13. Establishes, directs, and maintains all business administration activities and procedures in accordance with company policies.
  14. Provides project and company management with project financial and manpower information and forecasting.
  15. A critical aspect of this position's function within a project is close liaison with such departments as the Controller, Human Resources, Materials Management, Equipment, Real Estate, etc.
  16. Involved in the initial stages of project office and/or plant facilities selection and acquisition.
  17. Hires personnel or negotiates agreements for management services such as security, maintenance, and grounds keeping.
  18. Works with customers, vendors, subcontractors, etc. regarding the commercial terms of the contract, as well as maintains close contact with their counterparts in the customer organization.
  19. Demonstrates application of administrative and management principles, theories and concepts and has a working knowledge of other related disciplines.
  20. Able to provide solutions to a wide range of problems and display the ability to coordinate the financial and administrative functions within the organization.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or demonstrated equivalent. Experience: 12 years of professional experience. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

In accordance with the contract, all personnel performing work require United States citizenship or acceptable proof of naturalization prior to employment.

Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Position may require travel.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Must be able to speak, read and write English.
