Job Summary
AECOM's Buildings & Places Business Line has an exciting opportunity for highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on large scale projects that deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM clients. As a senior /principal member of the team you will be responsible for identifying potential buildings services opportunities and contributing to the sales, profitability and management of work to deliver projects on time and to budget. As the technical expert you will assist in the development of proposals to support new opportunities and provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers across the business. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment where business development and winning work is paramount.
As a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer you will:
Due to continued growth and involvement in major projects AECOM has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our established Building services group. In this role you will provide technical competence in mechanical engineering to our current and future projects.

The Mechanical Engineer will also be involved in identifying potential buildings services opportunities and assist in the development of proposals to support these opportunities. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Discipline Lead you will be supported by strong leadership and surrounded by a team of knowledgeable and experienced engineers. You will also be expected to contribute to the enhancement of the AECOM reputation and brand.

Minimum Requirements
  • 4-7 years' experience in a similar role within a HVAC mechanical services industry is mandatory
  • Knowledge of design and analysis of mechanical piping and distribution systems including equipment selections
  • Proficient in providing Building Services technical advice
  • Familiar with HVAC and building codes and standards
  • Project Management experience
  • Extensive experience working across a variety of building projects associated to industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and resources.
  • Knowledge of a Project Delivery Framework / Quality System
  • NABERS & Green Star accreditation highly appreciated
  • Registered Building Practitioner (RBP) an advantage
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • A good understanding of ESD philosophies
  • Excellent communication skills and decision making capabilities
  • Ability to work successfully in multidisciplinary teams
  • Tertiary engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Defense & Education projects would be a benefit.
