Our client is independent, British & proud to be making the highest quality yogurts, desserts & ice cream for their Organic division as well as for many of the UK's major retailers. Operating from 4 dairies & 2 logistics centres in rural Somerset & Devon, they employ over 1700 staff & produce more than 22% of the UK's yogurt.
They are currently recruiting for an Engineering Compliance and Environmental Specialist at the Crewkerne Site. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will ensure the smooth running of the engineering stores and statutory compliance against procedural and legislative requirements. You will raise awareness throughout the workforce in relation to environmental performance initiatives and have the ability to identify costs associated with environmental management to forecast yearly expenditure as well as ensuring all parts on site are fit for purpose and available so equipment can be properly maintained.
This is an exciting development opportunity for someone with a keen interest in Environmental Management.
They are looking for someone who is ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Studies or a similar discipline. You will have effective communication skills with both internal and external customers and will be numerate with the ability to deal with budgetary constraints. With a flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving you will be able to work on your own initiative, but also able to work as part of a team effectively. Also essential is experience of rudiments of ISO1400 and a passion for environmental protection and performance. Experience of compliance, engineering stores and engineering terminology would be advantageous but not essential as well as experience of budgetary control in order to remain on budget and to plan for large expenditure
