Monday-Friday on a rotating shift basis:

Week 1 - 06.00-15.00

Week 2 - 09.00-18.00

Week 3 - 06.00-15.00

Week 4 - 13.00-22.00

Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum working 40 hours per week

Role Objective/Purpose:


Responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery through routine maintenance and repairs, to assist with improved production facilities and reduced incidences of breakdowns.

To improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes

Qualifications & Experience:


Current BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations - IET Wiring Regulations or equivalent

City & Guilds Mechanical engineering - Desirable not essential

Knowledge & experience in electrical fault finding (Inc. PCBs)

Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings

Knowledge & experience in Pneumatic & Hydraulic installations and repairs

Knowledge & experience of mechanical systems to include sealing/vacuum packing machinery - Desirable not essential

Ability to prioritise workload to reduce downtime

Strong communication skills

Communicate with suppliers and/or service suppliers

Identify and order replacement parts/equipment

Key Responsibilities:


Work to site maintenance strategies, proceures and methods to ensure breakdowns are kept to a minimum and all repairs & maintenance is achieved in the most cost effective manner

Diagnose and remedy breakdown issues and prioritise all responses

Ensure that fixtures, fittings and equipment are maintained to an agreed standard

Assist with the procurement of fixtures, fittings and other items as required

Ensure that H&S requirements are being met in all areas of the site and report any issues to his Manager

Be on standby for call out arrangements in line with agreed departmental procedures (as required)

Assist with the supervision of on-site contractors to ensure compliance with company policies on Food safety & H&S
