That is exactly what is on offer here. This role is geared for a Safety Engineer who has a good track record of writing safety reports and ensuring designs meet appropriate safety standards.

Safety & Qualification Engineer
Up to £40,000 + Fridays off
Do you think safety engineers would be interested in a position where they could be totally responsible for how a business manages and implements its safety processes?
This position on the South Coast would suit a Safety and Qualification Engineer with a strong background in highly regulated industries and the ability to implement safety standards into design and manufacturing processes - EN60950 and 61508.
" Identify appropriate Safety Standards and undertake safety reviews on products designed and manufactured in house
" Generate the safety cases and associated data for the collation of a technical construction file for products and systems
" Maintain the appropriate professional standards on product safety and qualification testing and provide guidance and professional consultancy to other Engineers and employees on all matters relating to safety and qualification to the relevant standards.
" Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant safety and qualification practices with a particular emphasis on commercial and ruggedised equipment.
" Provide technical support to other departments on the safety and qualification aspects of new business and provide the appropriate documentation when requested
" Identify, justify and implement process improvements to ensure safety and qualification procedures are cost effective and aligned to business / product requirements.
" Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline - Mechanical, Electronics, Software
" Working knowledge of applicable UK legislation and CE Marking requirements
" A good knowledge of functional safety, typically EN60950 & 61508, would be an advantage
" Working knowledge of qualification requirements for Defence equipment (DEF Stan and MIL) however other industries will be considered - Aerospace, Medical, Telecommunications, and Automotive etc.
