Due to company growth our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager, from Engineering/Automation background, to work as part of their automation team.|
Your remit will be to be responsible for the management of all projects within the Automation business unit and as directed by the Automation Business Manager.
Specifically, responsible for the day to day management and control of the business unit projects, ensuring that all financial and contractual requirements, including build schedules, technical approvals, tests, delivery, installation and commissioning are achieved and ensuring that the customer is fully satisfaction.
Also to provide technical support in relation to project management with all other areas of the business.
Must have a good understanding and monitor the internal and external financial requirements of the project and the ability to successfully control project costs within these requirements.
Must understand and monitor the project milestones and ensure that progress is being made to achieve these on a day by day basis.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
To prepare for and manage the day to day aspects of the product design, development, building, testing, installation, commissioning and support of the customer acceptance testing of the companies equipment either in Poole or at the customer facilities.
To actively seek new business opportunities, alerting the sales team to any opportunities identified.
Be prepared to work outside regular office hours when necessary and travel in UK and overseas.
To undertake the necessary systems engineering required to ensure this work is detailed to suit the requirement both technically and economically.
You will need:
Excellent academic educational background, preferably in the fields industrial automation or complex engineering projects.
Proven working experience in project management in the engineering sector.
Solid technical background with understanding and / or hands-on experience in industrial automation development and automation technologies.
Excellent customer and internal communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
An industry recognised project management qualification.
Ideally Engineering degree qualified
