A leading regional printing publisher is recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. The business has multiple sites across the UK that deliver to each region on a daily basis so this is an extremely high speed production role. This is the ideal position for a multi skilled maintenance engineer who is looking to technically advance their career and work with new and exciting machinery. The need for an electrical maintenance engineer is due to the fact the group is thriving and business is booming.
This is one of the largest and most well-known printing companies in the UK, with more than 3 million products produced per week. The business has over 13 sites in the UK alone that poses a portfolio of over 500 brands they supply to. Each printing site is kitted out with technologically advanced machinery to allow for high speed production with minimal faults. The business was voted the best performing production site in the UK 3 years running; and they continue to pride themselves on their high productivities and low efficiencies. To go with this, they also produce less waste as they are keen to remain as environmentally friendly as possible.
The Role of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
During this role as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer you will be required to work on both mechanical and electrical faults doing repairs and breakdowns, on the factory machinery. There is a large amount of pre-planned maintenance to do on all printing machinery; this is whilst the site is implementing a new process to improve the reliability. The successful multi-skilled maintenance engineer would preferably be of a mechanical bias, having previous knowledge working with printing presses, conveyors, pneumatics & hydraulics and electrically; working to 3phase and single phase wiring and be able to read drawings.
The role is heavily electrical however the multi-skilled maintenance engineer should also have a good mechanical knowledge. It will be important the multi-skilled maintenance engineer has some kind of proven track record in a production or manufacturing environment. PLC knowledge is also beneficial. The site has Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC's but the successful maintenance engineer will receive additional training. Mechanically you would need to be able to work on pneumatics and strip down machinery.
