Multi- Skilled Maintenance Engineer |
Based in the heart of Bedfordshire, my client, a market leading company within the food manufacturing sector is looking for 2 Maintenance Engineers to support organic growth which will lead to a great increase in profits within the next few months. Due to the expanding nature of the business there is lots of opportunity to grow within the company, with supervisor positions becoming available on the horizon, and through training and development this is a great opportunity for the maintenance engineer to further their career in a lucrative and fast moving industry.
In the past 50 years the company has grown year on year and now supplies their products around the whole of the UK and many parts of the world. Independently owned, this family run business turns over around £30 million per year, and employs over 200 staff. Due to the company ethos, they have a very low turnover of staff, and due to this the company will continue moving forward to become the leader in their industry.
The Role of a Multi-skilled maintenance engineer:
The successful Maintenance Engineer will be required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the 2 sites which make up this manufacturing facility. Working on a 24-hour shift pattern, the maintenance engineer will keep the factory running around the clock, and due to the fast nature of the business you must respond quickly to breakdowns as 'time is money'. A good attitude towards continuous improvement will support this and a proactive approach to working overtime will boost the maintenance engineer's earnings and make a candidate stand out within the business.
The Maintenance Engineer would benefit from coming from a manufacturing background such as food or pharmaceutical or any FMCG environment, although with the right attitude and skills set they will look outside of this. Mechanically you should have a strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, chains, belts and bearings. Electrically, you should have experience working with single and 3phase, up to 415v - ideally working on motors, relays, sensors, etc. Whilst PLC experience is not a necessity, it would be beneficial if you have an understanding of inputs/ outputs and can diagnose faults.
Benefits: Offering a competitive salary, pension contribution, plenty of overtime, training and development available.
Salary: Circa £34,000- £37,000 DOE + O/T
Commutable from: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Stevenage, Hertfordshire St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, Bedford, Bedfordshire.
