Commercial Maintenance Services UK Ltd (CMS UK Ltd) is a successful, privately owned commercial building maintenance, services and supply company serving the whole of the UK. Established in 2000, the businesses' approach to growth has been organic and conservative and their success is built upon their core values of responsiveness, integrity and expertise. The business has grown by 20% over the last three years and has exciting plans for the future. As a result of continued expansion they are now seeking to appoint a Commercial Gas Engineer to be based around Swindon.
Job Description - Commercial Gas Engineer
The role of Commercial Gas Engineer covers a geographical location (on the road) and Engineers generally cover an area of c. 50 miles radius from their home (field based). Applicants can therefore be based anywhere in the Swindon area including Marlborough, Chippenham, Malmesbury, Cirencester, Bibury, Caterton, Wantage, Abingdon, Didcot, Oxford, Reading, Newbury or surrounding areas. Commercial Gas Engineers are given full support by an expert Logistics team.
On a daily basis, the successful Commercial Gas Engineer applicant may be responsible for the following duties:
* Carrying out Maintenance Inspections and Servicing of gas appliances & plant room equipment.
* Attending Reactive, Diagnostic and Repair calls to gas appliances and plant.
* Completing associated gas certification documentation in line with industry/client requirements.
* Estimating labour requirements for repairs to enable quotations to be generated.
* Liaising with suppliers to obtain part information/costs.

A successful applicant for the position of Commercial Gas Engineer will have experience in commercial gas heating, having gained good diagnostic and repair skills. Commercial gas qualifications will often be necessary to carry out the day-to-day work. Any experience or knowledge of oil, LPG, electrical controls and commercial plumbing installations would be a distinct advantage. While a thorough knowledge of a wide range of commercial gas heating installations is preferable, CMS UK Ltd may consider individuals with significant experience of commercial gas heating installations who would then be trained with commercial tickets. Naturally, the salary of these individuals would be adjusted accordingly. All applicants must have a proactive approach to problem solving with excellent communication skills. A full driving licence is also necessary due to the nature of the work.
