We are currently looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager with responsibility for Bids and Tenders to join a leading Defense prime, this is an opportunity to gain significant career progression and to work on some exciting projects.

Contracts Manager

Job purpose
To provide commercial support and governance to the business by ensuring the company contracts with customer / suppliers under terms that protect the business whilst ensuring that the sales / purchasing team have the necessary support to contract with customers / suppliers as efficiently as possible.

Key responsibilities
• The submission of tenders and proposals ensuring commercial integrity and compliance to all applicable policies, processes and legislation with specific responsibility for responding to the commercial aspects, including customer terms and conditions and pricing
• Ensuring commercial risk review and management in respect of tenders, proposals and projects
• Lead the negotiation of commercially advantageous terms and conditions for development, production and repair contracts including contract modifications / changes
• Drafting and review of agreements including, but not limited to, LTAs, PIAs, Agency, PDS, Distribution and Collaboration Agreements
• Day-to-day management of contracts, including customer liaison and customer relationship management on contractual matters
• To review and negotiate payment plans and variation of price formulas
• Drafting and negotiation of flow down Contracts to Suppliers
• Provide advice with respect to contractual obligations, liabilities and rights
• Conduct contract reviews in association with other departments
• Arrangement of and attendance at periodic reviews with customers

Person Specification
• Demonstrate commercial experience in terms of drafting, negotiation and management of contracts
• A strong commercial acumen to recognize sales & margin issues & opportunities
• Excellent communicator at all levels - internally & externally
• Leader of people Innovative and self-motivated individual
• Ability to work under pressure, priorities and work to deadlines
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
