My client is one of the UK's leading MEICA contractors within the Water sector. They have released a brilliant opportunity for Design Manager to join their team based in Warrington working on water / waste water projects.
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be responsible for the management and production of designs for Mechanical, Electrical, Process and combined projects mainly in capital maintenance within the water industry.
You will work alongside the technical manager to coordinate the designs that leave the office ensuring they are value engineered and within client specifications. Providing outline and detailed engineering across the whole lifecycle utilising all the resources at your disposal.
Co-ordinating alongside mechanical, electrical, process designers as well as sub-contractors and suppliers to identify and communicate scope changes through design and engineering phases to delivery teams. Part of your role will also be to evaluate potential hazards through the use of design risk assessments, identifying and correcting problems as well as identifying potential impacts on the environment.
Attending regular site visits and attend meetings, you will take a lead role in organising design reviews both internally and externally and managing across the various stakeholder groups as well as preparing financial budgets and programmes for the design activities. What you'll need
You will require:
-An industry applicable qualification - Graduate / HNC / ONC
-Extensive experience within the water or wastewater/sewage industry including chemical dosing process.
-Experience with: Autocad, Microsoft packages
-Proactive approach and excellent communication skills
